STC-SVC members and associates have a few events to look forward to in the month of June:
1. Maintaining A Stellar Site
This Friday (June 1), STC’s Communities Affairs Committee offers a free webinar – “Mastering Your Community Website 101: The Basics of WordPress and cPanel” with Timothy Esposito.
Feeling intimidated about running your community’s website? Considering moving from your old hosting service to the free one offered by STC? Don’t know the difference between your HTTPs and your PHPs? Want to learn some tricks and tips for streamlining your web presence with social media? Then this is the webinar for you. We’ll go over the basics of creating and running a website using WordPress and cPanel, along with some additional tools designed to make your webmastering easier.
This webinar is for those currently serving as community webmasters, are incoming webmasters, or are interested in learning more about using WordPress and cPanel for their communities. All STC members are welcome, and are encouraged to register and attend online. (A recording will be available after the webinar, if you miss it.)
You must have an active STC membership to attend. Register for this free webinar by clicking the link above.
A followup webinar, covering more advanced WordPress tips and tactics, will be held on Friday, June 15.
2. Soirée in the East Bay
Nicki Davis, president of our sister STC chapter in Berkeley, extends an invitation! All local tech writers, guests, et al. are welcome – with RVSP – to join an informal Summer Schmooze get-together at Nicki’s home in San Leandro. The hostess will provide sandwiches and salad; guests may bring a dish or snack to contribute.
Be sure to RSVP at president [@] stc-berkeley.org. Feel free to note any dietary restrictions or food allergies as needed.
